Plans
Every plan includes everything in Buildpad. Plans differ in how many credits you get, and you can pay monthly or quarterly.
Buildpad has two plans, Pro and Max. Both give you the whole product. The only difference is how many credits you get each month, so you choose a plan by how much you expect to build, not by which features you need. Prices and credit amounts are on the pricing page.

What every plan includes
- Projects and phases: as many projects as you like, each with its own roadmap and chat.
- Research: quick web searches with sources and deep research reports.
- Ultraplan: a full plan of phases built from your whole conversation and canvas.
- Canvas: notes, frames and documents, with reader view and search.
- Interviews: Buildpad interviews people for you and brings back transcripts and takeaways.
- Websites: building, hosting and publishing on a
yourname.buildpad.siteaddress or your own domain. Publishing needs an active plan, and published sites go offline while your account has none. - Export: download your whole canvas or any single item.
Nothing is locked behind Max.
Pro or Max
Credits measure the work Buildpad does for you, and the plans differ only in how many you get. Pro fits a founder building and launching one product. Max fits a founder running several projects at once, or one who leans hard on deep research, interviews and websites, which use the most credits.
If you are unsure, start with Pro. Running low is never a dead end: you can buy a credit pack or move up to Max at any time, and an upgrade adds the Max credits on top of what you have. Credits explains what uses credits and how they refresh.
Monthly or quarterly
Every plan can be billed monthly or quarterly. Quarterly billing charges you once every three months, saves you money compared to paying month by month, and gives you the whole quarter's credits up front.
New subscriptions start on monthly billing. To move to quarterly, open Settings → Billing and click Switch to quarterly. The switch takes effect at the end of your current month, so nothing is charged on the day you click. You can go back to monthly the same way. Your subscription has the details.
Where to see your plan
Your plan shows in three places:
- The dashboard badge next to the Buildpad logo reads Pro or Max. Without a plan it reads Free with an Upgrade link.
- The credits pill at the top of the dashboard. Hover over it or tap it to see your plan name and balance.
- Settings → Billing shows the plan card: the plan name, a status badge such as Active, Trial, Cancelling, Pausing, Paused or Payment failed, your renewal date, your billing cycle and the payment method on file.

Starting a subscription
New accounts are created during onboarding, where you pick Pro or Max and start a free trial. The subscription begins automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. See Free trial for how the trial works.
If you cancelled in the past and want to come back, sign in and click Upgrade in the dashboard badge or in the credits pill. Pick Pro or Max in the window that opens and complete the checkout. You are charged right away, your credits are available immediately, and your projects are exactly where you left them. There is no second trial.
Tip
Pick the plan for the next month, not the next year. Changing plans is a couple of clicks, an upgrade can take effect the same day, and credits you do not use carry over to the next period.
