Free trial
How the free trial works, what you get during it, how credits refresh, and what happens when it ends.
Every new account starts with a free trial of the plan you picked at sign-up. You get all of Buildpad during the trial. The one difference from a paid plan is how credits arrive: a fresh batch every day instead of the plan's full amount at once. You can cancel before the trial ends and pay nothing.

Credits during the trial
Your credits refresh every day. Unused credits do not carry over, so a marathon on day one does not help day two. When the day's credits are gone, Buildpad waits for the next batch, and the credits pill at the top of the dashboard shows when it arrives.
Tip
Spread the trial out. A phase or two each day gets you further than one long session, and a big task like deep research is best started on a fresh batch.
Your card is not charged during the trial
You added a card at sign-up so your subscription can start on its own when the trial ends. Until then nothing is charged. Buildpad emails you a reminder before the end, on the day you chose at sign-up, and Settings → Billing shows the exact end date.

Want all your credits now?
Press Start subscription now in Settings → Billing, or Start subscription in the credits pill. Your subscription starts today: the card is charged for the first period, your plan's full credits land in your balance, and renewals count from today.
Cancelling
Open Settings → Billing and choose Cancel plan from the menu on the plan card. You keep full access until the trial ends and are not charged. If you change your mind before then, press Reactivate plan.
When a cancelled trial ends, your projects and everything on their canvases stay, and you can open them. AI features are off and published websites go offline until you subscribe. Subscribing later starts a paid plan right away, there is no second trial.
When the trial ends
Your subscription starts on its own. The card is charged for the first period and your plan's full credits arrive, on top of what is left of the day's trial credits. From then on credits refill with every renewal. See Credits and Your subscription.
If the charge fails, Settings → Billing shows Payment failed with a button to update your card, and AI features pause until a payment goes through.
